The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) is a non-profit association of globally leading colleges and universities representing over 30 countries and working together to holistically integrate sustainability into campus operations, research and teaching. Hokkaido university has joined the network in 2013. Ikegami, Specially Appointed Associate Professor of Sustainable Campus Management Office has been playing a role of Co-chair of a working group as well as a member of advisory committee since 2016.
The annual conference, ISCN 2019 was held at University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil. Ozasa, Appointed Associated Professor of Faculty of Engineering participated the conference.
During the conference, the announcement of Sustainable Campus Excellence Award was made, Hokkaido University had been selected as a finalist in the area of Cultural Change for Sustainability, under the theme “Assessment System for Sustainability Campus”. Other areas are “Whole Systems Approach” and “Partnerships for Progress”.
Next annual conference, ISCN 2020 will be held at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland.
